What lesson can we learn from this?
Someone made a huge mistake. Someone else felt pressured to find a quick fix rather than take the time to find an appropriate solution. Yet another person now will have to come in and save the day (likely charging quite a high fee to do so!).
Where are you in this story? We all make huge mistakes--sometimes by accident and sometimes we just make the wrong decisions. How do you respond to those mistakes? Do you compound the problem but jumping too quickly at any possible solution without evaluating it first? As a result, do you have to pay someone else to come in and fix your "fix?" When you make an error in judgment, stop, take some time, generate possible solutions, and evaluate the costs and benefits of each so you can make an informed choice. Yes, you may experience outside pressures to act quickly, but you and your business may have to live with the consequences, so choose wisely!
